Has anyone come across this before:

http://whiskeygoldmine.com/

I like it. Fun mix of whiskey, beer, rum etc. And I like the bar food recipes!

What is a shot whiskey in comparison to a sipping whiskey ?????

Not sure I like the site a bit too much of everything going on there but that's just me I like things more simple ... just like myself ;)

I suppose I wouldn't call it a whiskey website as such, but it seems kind of fun. I wouldn't expect any serious info or analysis.

I don't buy the "simple like me" thing at all. Classic Kerryman. Pretend to be simple when your really a cute hoor.

Well, it's just a list of the best whiskeys to do shots with. We love us some Powers! Also, I wouldn't waste my Redbreast 12 on doing a bunch of shots.

But I am a simple guy. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't refuse an expensive Cognac but the original point of the site was to use blind taste tests to prove that some of the over priced products are just BS! For example, we did a story on how a $12 bottle of Domaine St Michelle sparkling wine crushed Dom Perignon in a blind taste test. Why spend $150 on a bottle of Dom? Most of these overpriced liquors and things are more of a status simbol.

I'm not a hoor. I'm just a hoor with liquor and women. :D

No big deal and not meant in any nasty way ... I just don't know how you can cover so much, I'd find it all very distracting and don't know if I could give my all to so many different products ... but fair play in doing your thing and the best of luck with the site, I'm sure people will love it too, like Iain. Anything that highlights any product is a good thing and especially when you take out the pretentiousness and that has to be commended

Also I was wondering what you meant by shot, and I do know what a shot generally means, I just never heard of people doing shots of powers all night!!!! I thought there may have been a slightly different twist to it but maybe not. It just does not really happen over here but then people do it with JD here

Hey, thanks for dropping in. No offence meant - I haven't read that much of the site yet but I also meant it as kind of a compiment. I didn't find too much highbrow ott scientific analysis of still shapes etc. Which I do find interesting sometimes. But don't tell anyone.

That's ok. Although to be honest I was referring to Irish whiskey chaser above. In real life he's a kerry politician who wears a flat cap (or kyop) as he likes to call it and gets hospitals and airports built in every village in Kerry.

It is difficult covering everything but I am trying to recruit writers for each topic. It's going to take some time. We've been up for 2 months and I figure about a year from now will have a good stable of writers and enough articles to be almost a reference for each topic, i.e. reviews, top ten lists, events, recipes etc...

Yes, we do shots of Powers all night in Philly! All night! :D

Thanks for the well wishes...

No offense taken brother. That highbrow stuff can get a little ridiculous. I'm just hoping to help people find great drinks and bars that they can enjoy at any price.

That's some funny stuff right there. Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll definitely be stopping in here from time to time, I bet you guys could teach me a lot about whiskey.
