1912 Jamesons

Postby albibrox » Sun Dec 06, 2009 2:08 pm

I had an unopened bottle of 1912 Jamesons' stolen at a recent break in to my house. I haven't a clue of it's value. Does anyone have any idea??? My insurance company are asking for an estimate.

I would greatly appreciate any help.
Anyone with any info can contact me on albibrox@aol.com

If you have a picture could you post it here, otherwise give as much detail as possible and we will do our best to give you a valuation, important details to consider are the condition of the seal/capsule, the label, the fill level, details as they appeared on the label. Someone in the society might have a few pictures of similar bottles that might assist in valuation.

Also if you can let us know what country you are cased in?

You will probably need to contact a specialist Auctioneer or retailer to get a written valuation.

Sorry to hear about the break-in Albert, hope they catch the person responsible.
Firstly, I assume (given the recent posts) that you have not listed the item seperately on your house insurance policy? I'm in agreement with IrishWhiskeyChaser, you are probably better off getting a spot-estimate from a reputable auction house as 'antique' values can vary significantly over time. The physical condition of the bottle etc would also affect it's valuation, and, unless you have some form of photgraphic evidence of this it might be difficult for an assessor to assign a value. Obviously the more information you can give them the better.
