Good Whiskey Hunting wrote:I've had a very interesting conversation with John O'Connell from West Cork distillery earlier and went to my local Off licence to got some of their product. I couldn't find any and bought some real whiskey instead. Drinking Redbreast tonight.
I hope they don't take offence by my opinion,I don't mean it that way.
Those guys need to come out of the shadows and let people know what they are doing. Still no idea what they do down there and until they let us know what they are actually doing no one will trust them.
Did you get any info from them?
I actually Would have no issue with interesting new progressive products but do have issues with something try to be whiskey when it is not.
Can any body decipher this? What is this near forgotten technique???
Kennedy’s (Cavanagh can probably be inserted here too) is a delicate fusion of the finest Celtic whiskies and malt to insure a unique, challenging and august drinking experience. Kennedy’s is handcrafted in West Cork, Ireland and is infused with Irish and Bourbon cask oak using a proprietary infusion process. It is then steeped in malt through an artisan and near-forgotten technique. The resurrection of this lost steeping process insures to marry a smooth and clean finish whilst retaining a vibrant and distinctive character. Kennedy’s is inspired by Ireland’s proud and approachable ethos to guarantee satisfaction.
Drombeg is another curious one ... Is it a liqueur or An under strength distillate speed matured with oak chips/staves.
Absolute no clarity. Their whole product line s very confusing with out any of the clarity we seek ...
Drombeg is manufactured from Irish spring water and locally sourced ingredients.
It is a natural, hand-crafted premium Irish spirit liqueur at 22% ABV and is one of only two non-sweetened savoury brown spirit liqueurs on the global market. Its unique and great taste comes from the infusion of Irish oak with a sweet fresh distillate and pure Irish spring water.
Flavour: Spirituous, mellow woody flavours, sweetish, caramel & toffee, some citrus.
