Midleton fill their casks at 82% ..... we're told ?!?!?!?

A very broad statement me thinks ... who was doing the telling I wonder ?

I thought the last time I was down they said they fill to the industry standard ... can anybody confirm this?

Were any Society members at the event?

That had my hopes up. Imagine that in a bottle - at cask strength...

He could have confused it with coming off the stills at that percentage, or something like that.

Good point John and quite logical that that may be the case. Did not think of that at all but they do say that their stills are very efficient and of course the 3rd distillation would up the percentage again. The small still in kilbeggan seems to run it off in the low to mid 70's.

Checking my notes... 80-84% off the stills, 63-64% fill strength. At Midleton, of course.
