Mackmyra (Sweden) Stephen Y
????? (Czech) Peter
???? (Belgian) Liam S
Swissky? (Switzerland) Liam S

if you have already offered bottles can you provide more detail.... regards TWB

Definitely worth putting that in Adrian. Millstone is one of the better Euro whiskies that I have tried.

I meant to also say that of you can lay hands on a bottle of this stuff at a reasonable price it would be worth inclusion:

I tried their first release last year and was impressed by how good it was for a 3 year old whisky. Really well crafted I thought.

Whiskey Bro et al:

My bottles are:

DYC 8 year old (Spanish)
Swissky (Swiss) [not sure of spelling - Jim Murray spells it Swissky but I've a feeling the box says "Swhisky"]
Goldly's 10 year old (Belgian)

All unopened and untasted.

Swissky is a single malt, others are blends.

Got an email from a mate at work, who got this email from a Belgian colleague:
Dear xxxxx,

the world's best whiskey comes from .....

...... comes from Belgium. Check it out:

http://www.belgianwhisky.com/start.php?lang=en

The company plans to export soon to Scotland. You could maybe be the Irish importer.

Belgian's have no whiskey tradition? We Belgians are raised with the stuff and drink it with yoghurt at breakfast.

Everyone,

This is the line up:

DYC 8 year old (Spain)
Goldlys 10 year old Double Still (Belgium)
Mackmyra Single Malt First Edition (Sweden)
Frysk Hynder Single Malt Sherry cask (Netherlands)
Penderyn Single Malt release July 09 Madeira cask (Wales)
Swhisky Skipper Glen Vignettes Single Malt Burgundy cask (Switzerland)

I may move these around but I'll keep roughly this order. Thanks to everyone who provided bottles.

I also have a surprise bottle (not necessarily European) which I will ask people to guess! I'll give marks for continent, country, region, style, age, ABV, maturation, etc. It's for fun, but the winner (whoever gets closest) can have what's left in the bottle after we give out the samples.

Liam

I've put up some pics (thanks for those, Zoltan!) and bottle details:
http://www.irishwhiskeysociety.com/events/2011/2011-03-31

Some gaps to be filled in yet, including the voting results (someone want to send me those?).

I'm really sorry I missed trying all of these unusual whiskeys. It was a bad week to catch a virus.
