Old 28 Rye Whiskey

I have a bottle of "Old 28" rye whiskey from McDonald-McCarthy, New York-Phila. I am looking for information on it - age, history of the distiller, value, etc. Photo attached

A good place to start would be here http://www.pre-pro.com and also ask our friends here http://www.straightbourbon.com/

My own guess is it is post prohibition judging by the actual bottle, 1930s - 1950s

Many Liquour Store owners bottled under their own name, so other than confirming that the name existed at a particular address at a particular time using street directories you may have difficulty finding out more.

Hope that helps get you started. Let us know how you get on.
