What's your latest whiskey purchase?

Let's talk whiskey.

Popped into Ally today and relieved him of

Connemara 18yo
Tyrconnell Anim Negra
Bowmore 25yo

I know the bow more is an indulgence but it is amazing value compared to the prices in the UK. It is circa £180sterling in the UK or €215 ... Ally has it for €159  so if you like a great Bowmore get your behinds down to CWS. Further this compared to the older Bowmore's make it look like a steal

I think the Bowmore 25 is a fantastic whisky - I always have a bottle on hand.

Gone a bit mad myself - purchases in the last 2 weeks,

Aberfeldy 25yo
Glen Grant 25yo
Bunnahabhainn 18
Laphroaig Triple Wood

A bunch of Midletons

And ordered some Midleton single cask (CWS2010), Tyrconnell AN Cask, Connemara 18yo and Turf Mor, and Tyrconnell 18yo.

Not technically purchases but between gifts and trades ... I hauled in the following this week-end also

Basil Hadens 8yo (High Rye content Bourbon)

Jameson Bow Street Distillery Reserve

Midleton 2010 (A straight swap for an older Midleton to gift to IWC Jr when he is of age)

A gift of the 20cl trio of Jameson Reserves

and 4 mini's of th various WIld Geese

Thanks to all you know who you are.

Been a busy week end for me and far from reducing my collection I actually managed to increase it

seen all the talks about lidl's whiskeys, i have bought the Dundalgan 8 years old last monday bottle code L.44.10.3.A1, and i just found it was a good whiskey for the price 19.99.
today i bought the "old" version with no age statement bottle code L.34.10.3.A1
as you can see not much difference at the bottle code
i will try them side by side later

i have also bought the 18 years old speyside single malt from Lidl
i will post my comments on it at the lidl whiskey thread

Got a couple of bottles of Bushmills in Lidl on Saturday @ €17.00 - not a bad price.

But more interestingly a different Dun Leire 8. On offer at £14, but thats not the reason i got it. The original one is on the right, the new one is the one in a strange purple hat with matching belt.

I managed to order and receive a few samples to conclude my Advent-urous dramming series.

These include 6 various Edradour, HP30, Campbeltown Loch 30y, Glenfiddich 15y Distillery Edition, Ballantine's 17y (I want to see what all the fuss is about and whether it's justified), but the one I'm really looking forward to is the Connemara Small Batch #1 Sherry Finish.

Hi all,

OK, perhaps I went a little bit too crazy with the Plastic today while at the State of NH Liquor store. I bought FOUR bottles of "The Irishman" (on sale) two bottles of POWERS (on sale) one Jameson 12 (on sale) and one Black Bush (not on sale). Oooh, I also bought something called Knappogue Castle 12 year old very special reserve (on sale). This should keep me held over through the cold Maine Winter! Let see....thats nine bottles + two unopened bottles in storage + five just opened + one 1/2 full bottle for a total of sixteen and 1/2 bottles! Yep, that should be enough to hold me through Winter (and then some).

Regards,
SixCats!

Just received 2xJamison Gold
1xJamison Rarest Vintage Reserve

I must say if the Vintage Reserve is better than the Gold I just opened, I'll be one very happy fellow.

Haven't really had much time to post of late but my latest additions are

Knappogue 12yo

and

Yamakazi Sherry Cask.

Haven't opened the Yamakazi yet but the Knapp 12yo is a lovely soft light bourbon matured whiskey which if I was given blind would nearly have tought was a Cooley (Tyrconnell) whiskey  Need to check it out more closely though but a very easy drinker.

Cheers,
