comber, 30 year old whiskey

hello.. i hope you can help me.. I recently have acquired 2 boxed bottles of comber over 30 year old whiskey, i was hoping you may be able to give some advise as i am interested in selling them.

these days you will get 250 euros each for them

mr.bb / affiliation ??? Bottles for sale / not for sale? It's all very confusing.
Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite and furthermore; always carry a small snake - W.C. Fields et al.

mr. bb is just back from holidays, so he is trying to catch up

Would these be the same bottles that TWE now has on sale for Stg£499 a bottle?

That's about €590 at today's exchange rate. Based on €275 purchase price that's some mark up!

I think you were had!

Which makes it an even greater shame that they couldn't have been kept within the society membership at what would have been a reasonable price. If people are given the advantage of advertising here there should be some form of cooling period where the bottles are available only to society members before being made generally available to the outside world.

well,
the man himself sold it to the shop, and he was only looking for advice how to sell
so we can not blame him for that

He sold them from £275 so circa 325 euro which he probably would not achieve on ebay. So a fair price really ... then after vat the TWE may make £150 per bottle which is a handsome profit but only of they sell tem for that price.

Forgot about the VAT. Also forgot it was £275 not €275. Not too bad so, some accountant I am.
