I think there's plenty of those Jameson 15's knocking around - as well as the various auction sites etc. they were in both the Celtic Whiskey Shop and The Whisky Exchange for a while.

Plenty of those alright, but I wonder was there a version on the same packaging as the Powers 15 and Midleton Reserve?

I've never come across one, you would imagine if there was one it would be more common than the Power's & Midleton.
I also think they were trying to preserve stocks. If you recall the Midleton Reserve Rare Blended Whiskey replaced the Old Midleton 7,10 & 15 in 1971.

For your guide, I bought a single bottle of that Preston's recently for £100, and another today for £17. Both without postage, of course. Again, once a few have been satisfied, these prices come tumbling. Might have just been luck with the second one. The seller is very prompt and reliable.

Maybe I just imagined it or got it confused with the Midleton. The Powers 15yo does not crop up too often and it is only in the last 2-3 years that I've noticed the Midleton cropping up of which I was unaware of that bottling previously. Really wierd how these things go.

Wow - did someone really bid €137 for one of them - there's loads of them knocking around. I wonder can you "unbid"?

Two people bid around that amount. Strange. It's usually a great bargain. I have bought several and drank several.

I hope it was not you Iain ...

I too have bought several over the years and never paid over 50Euro including postage.

Maybe if one of the people writes in and says the made the bid by accident. ;)

Nope not me. I'm getting some sense. I was more thinking what would you do if you bid €137 and them came on here and found out that they were only worth around €50.

I am at bit surprised at the Dungourney estimate ... seems very top heavy to me and should be similar to the Knappogue. I reckon 750 would be a good price for both.

If anybody misses out on the Dungourney give me a shout ;)

Can't believe the Midleton 85" is going for 220 euro. That's a great price.

Considering all the other price I would imagine that is under estimated and should go for more but quite a few are over estimated also.

Yeah, they are strange estimates. Jameson 15 is a little low, but about right. Dungourney can be bought for 500 at the distillery in Midleton. I doubt the Knappogue Castle will make that price either, but you'd never know.

Yes you'd imagine the Jameson 15yo PPS is worth about 100-150 at auction nearing on the higher side but it maybe a case of a unknown gem to a lot of people.

Of course it need to be remembered that there is a 15% +vat auctioneers premium on top of that.

So for every €100 you add €15 plus €3.15 vat.

Some of those prices seem a bit odd to me also? Wonder where the estimates came from?
