But that DE is something else too. The DE Talisker is now looking like a compulsory purchase.
Dammit, I'm trying to save to go to Hungary and here ye are tempting me to buy Diageo DE's!

You can probably but them cheaper in Hungary. Z probably has a case stored away somewhere!

Didn't you previously suggest I do just that?
I did, you know. And it was absolutely epic!

 must have imbibed a bit too much seems I'm repeating myself

Anyway my latest purchase is Irish Whiskey by E.B. Maguire.

A bargain from an Amazon seller. Under 10quid for an original first edition .... I've seen these go for significantly more.

but that is not a whiskey...
it's a book...

You fell for the oldest trick in the book there, IWC! ;-)

Fantastic bargain though, and a great resource. Paid a good deal more for my own copy

Sorry lads but at the end of the day I did buy some "Irish Whiskey"

If it happens to be in the printed format there's not much I can do about that ...

...therefore I'm calling it correct procedure on a technicality ;)

That's a great price, Adrian.

My latest buys were an Ayshire 1975, Amrut Fusion and Highland Park 1990. A couple of Karuizawas on the way too, bottled for whiskymag.

Just took delivery of:

Jameson 15yo PPS
Jamseon 15yo (The old brown label one)
Bushmills 25yo
Redbreast 15

Does anyone know anything about those brown label Jameson 15s - It doesn't seem to say whether its a PPS or blend.

Pretty sure they are blends from around 1974, check base under bottle it might show IGB and year bottle was made i.e. 74...

I missed delivery of one of those yesterday. At least I assume it was one of those. PIcked up a Bunnahabhain XVIII yesterday. Really like this one.

Me too. It's next on my list of things to buy. Well not too far off the top anyway. I've just ordered a Lagavulin 12yo Sherry Cask from the whiskey exchange.

Before that it was another 2 bottles of Redbreast 15. Can't help myself.

Yikes! Brettie, did you drink 3/4's by yourself ? Despite my being a big guy, I couldn't drink but a few ounce drams
(at most) least I really feel lousy the next day! So, I guess you're liking the Tullamore Dew ? I'd like to try the Tullamore Dew 12.

Millstone 5yo Dutch single malt whiskey from the Zuidam (sow-dam) distillery. I'll keep this available for a possible world whiskey tasting & if not all the better for me.

Also a 12yo cask strength (58.9%) single cask Highland Park specially bottled Maxxium Netherlands

I've recently bought a dutch pot still rye from the same distillery - it would be interesting to compare the 2 at some point.

1 bottle Tullamore Dew 10 yr, $30 USD
1 bottle Feckin, $20 USD

Boring, I know. The only interesting part was that the above were available at a Pennsylvania (state-owned and run) liquor store. I was floored, as normally their selection is horrible.

The state stores offer Powers 12yr ($35 USD) and Greenore 15yr ($105 USD) via mail order. I am definitely ordering a few bottles of the former, but do not think I will be ordering the latter.

Edit: and let me mention that I am kicking myself for missing a recent sale at the state stores on Jameson Gold. They were blowing out their inventory at $40 USD per 750ml bottle!

Sounds like your having fun there ...

I woudl not be familiar with US prices but $30 for trhe Tullamore Dew 10yo sound s good. But the Powers 12yo at $35 sounds like very good value. And even though the Greenore 15yo is an excellent grain whiskey it is quite expensive at that price.

Kind Mr Courier man arrived with some Laphroaig today. Only a month late but that is to be expected with the Cairdeas releases.

So my last few purchases in technicolour, think I'll have to be quite for July

Agreed ... this is the first time I've seen Tully 10yr on sale (anywhere in my area). It's available at very few local pubs so I was glad to see it on the shelf at a state-owned store.

Their prices are very hit and miss ... on one hand they have bargains like Powers 12yr ($35) but on the other they have Redbreast 12yr ($55 USD -- can be found very easily elsewhere for $40 USD).
