Mini Locke's barrel

Postby JohnM » Tue May 19, 2009 8:48 pm

Bought a 10-litre Locke's barrel on ebay. Cost me almost nothing to buy, but about £30 to have posted to the UK. Anyhway, it fell to bits in the post. Maybe I'll leave it in to the next whiskey society meeting an you can all reassemble it for me while I get my nails done at the bar.

I thought it would be easy enough to put together, but I haven't the patience.

Okay. I'll let Zoltan take the picture.

It says Locke's Malt on it, so it must be a newer one. It looks old, though.

I am announcing a complete cessation of work due to the use of non-union labour in a restricted trade, ie that of coopering. Right lads, all out!

Hey JohnM,
How are you getting on with the barrel? Are you going to try and rejuvinate it or is it purely for decorative purposes! :D

Hi John

I gave it to Zoltan - he's in charge of this one. I was hoping we could get it sealed up and put about 15 bottles of Locke's into it, but it's leaking, last I heard.

Hi all,

i was talking to Bernadette Quinn from Kilbeggan Distillery

She said it was possibly hand made there for charity, and if was, had Locke's whiskey in it

i will bring it down to them tomorrow for approval, and will ask them for proper restoration.
