Now that sounds like a decent trip for the Society.
Good find!

I'd love to go. The article is a bit strange, though. I don't know where they got the 101 irish whiskeys and they have left out a number of distilleries.

The 'Royal Irish' intrigues me. Presumably this is that cache of Dunville's that surfaced in the Eighties?
The actual 'experience' is £40 a head for parties of six and upwards, and is a tasting of the Bush range - Black Bush, White Bush, 10, 16 and 21, plus an unnamed scotch single malt.
I might try to get down there to see what their Royal Irish is. Not so taken on the Bush tasting as I think the society has one coming up anyway, and there'll be that Bush dinner in Dublin in October.

I have been there - when they were still compiling the whiskey collection.

Yes - I believe the Royal irish is one of the Dunville's unearthed at that time.

Great to see a hotel do-ing such a collection ... however can anybody explain the 101 boast? Seems a bit spurious to me when they say they have finished "its collection of all 101 Irish whiskies" ??? :?: As I'm not sure what it means ... 101 whiskies currently available on the market or just all 101 Irish Whiskies which can't be true.

However fair play to them for doing something that is pro Irish Whiskey and they are to be applauded for that.

Managed to snip the pic of some the bottles from their site.
