I noticed that the last 2 WhiskyAuction.co.Uk have had no Irish whiskeys at all.

I thought they would have had a few each auction but so far not too many lots at all.

McTears had quite a good collection of Irish Whiskey in there last auction.

Here's the highlights

CASE OF JOHN JAMESON & SONS REDBREAST 10 YEAR OLD (18) Irish liqueur whiskey. 1/2 bottles £3200 (£178each+commission)

JOHN JAMESON & SONS REDBREAST 12 YEAR OLD Rare old Irish whiskey - £180

JOHN JAMESON & SONS REDBREAST 12 YEAR OLD £200

JOHN JAMESON & SONS REDBREAST 12 YEAR OLD MINIATURE (7) Unsold ,Estimate was £200-£300

JOHN JAMESON OVER 12 YEAR OLD Capsule reads 'T.V.B. Liqueur Unsold Estimate was £250-£350 old and rare but the label was very bad.

J. MCCARTHY & SONS LTD. GUARANTEED 15 YEAR OLD Unsold, Estimate was £1000-£2000 I thought this would have sold but was suprised it didn't. I don't know if there was much activity about it/

OLD COMBER 30 YEAR OLD Unsold Estimate was £200-300

OLD COMBER 30 YEAR OLD Unsold with same estimate

The lots that sold went foe under their estimates and others didn't sell at all. There's still some money being spent. I love to know who got the Redbreasts 10 year olds.

Whiskyauction.com had some value and expensive ones this time around.

Connemara single cask bottled for The Nectar Belgium got €72

Hewitts got €120 :o

The Whisky Fair 22 year old malt €216

Marconi Jameson €102

Kellan got €85

Merry's got €132 :o

Old Comber got €292

Old Dublin got €65

Power's 15 year old got €350

Bushmills Millennium Malt got €197

Bushmills Distiller`s Reserve got €212

Bushmills Caribbean Rum Cask Finish got €132

Bushmills Distillery Reserve x2 got €72 each

3x Redbreast 15 year old (2008 LMdW) got €72 each bargains

Power's 12 got €27 another bargain

As I said a few surprises and a couple of bargains, I got a couple of bargains this time ;) ;)

I noticed nearly half of the Nippon Whisky went for over €1000 a bottle and one even got over €4000. I wonder will Irish whiskey go that way some day?

Oh well I been keeping an eye on this months whiskyauction all month.

5 bottles of Midleton 26 year old.

There were 4 with boxes and one without.

They ranged in price from 2 at €712, €753 & €792. The one without the box made only €450. What a difference a box makes? I had the underbid on that but didn't try any of the others. Very good prices considering the quantity for sale. If they had been dripfed to the auctions they may have made more.
Other notable bottles were
John Jameson 12 Years old Special Old Irish Whiskey €105,
Green Spot -€125
Cooley-WM. Cadenhead Ltd. 13 year old -€102
Teeling Whiskey Vintage Reserve-21 Years old- 153
80's Powers ranging from €24-55

There was some good value at this one again, a Bushmills 10 year old malt got €15, some Jamesons got €13 & €15.

I wonder will we see more Midleton 26 year appear? I love to see what a 25 or 30 would fetch.

There was no Irish at the whiskyauction.co.uk auction. I think they are struggling with all the different auction houses in Scotland.

I was reminded about this today, Mealys in Castlecomer had an auction on Tuesday and A rare Bottle of 10 years old Green Spot Whiskey got €460 + commission.

This was a late 60's probably early 70's bottle and at that price I think it's a great buy. I only wish I seen it sooner but I had to buy a petrol stimmer.

As you say GWH a bargain. If that had been on the WhiskyAuction site probably would have got a lot more.

A bottle of Jameson Liqueur 12 year year old Whiskey got £380 + commission at Whisky-online auctions.

McTears had some Irish on this months auction too.

Jameson 15 with the Brown label from the 70's- £160

Midleton Reserve with a label in poor condition £110

Redbreast from the early 80's -£150

7 Redbreast 12 Miniatures from the 60's didn't sell, they were estimated at £160-240. I don't know if they were withdrawn or failed to meet a reserve.

6 Redbreast 12 with older IDL label -£180

Coleraine perhaps from the 70's got £180

10 bottles of Jameson got £130.

All these price are subject to commission and sometime internet charges if you bid online. It could be 25+% more when you have to pay, depending on the auction house.

GWH, regarding the Jameson distillery reserve from whiskyauction.com: at €210 you noted a great price. Do you mean for the buyer or the seller? Perhaps I have lost touch with that particular Jameson but it seemed a bit rich to me. The last one on that website went for a little more than half that if I'm not mistaken. However, they don't seem to come up too often so I'm not sure. Thanks!

Great price for the seller. I would pay half that. I remember seeing the go for under €50 a few years back.

I'll have to cask in some day.

I just joined this site as I would like to know opinion about Jameson Rarest Vintage year 2007, I have few bottles in my cellar and thinking to sell some of them, also
a very old bottle Dunville Special Liqueur Whisky, the label doesn't show the year, size even how strong it is but it looks to be very old

Hi petekuta, the jameson Rarest Vintage 2007 in my opinion is possibly one of the best Irish whiskeys to be produced in the last 20 years. However these can be got at a reasonable price from the states still. So I would currently value these at between 250-300 and this may be less than what you originally paid for them. SO if that ios the case you'll need to hold on tio the for a few years yet to see any return.

The Dunvilles we would really need to see a picture and depending on type and whiskey style possibly €5-700 or if modern €30-40

I think I spotted an ad with those whiskeys on adverts or Donedeal but if didn't last long. I can remember if it was an old or new Dunvilles.

I seen a Jameson Grace go for £135 on some British auction site but I deleted the link by accident. Probably about €200+ with commission etc.

That Midleton Master Distillers 'Housewarming' bottle looks very good. Are they as rare as hens teeth?!

whiskyauctions.com had some good Irish Whiskeys this time around.

There were one result that had me shaking my head.
A bottle of West Cork Classic Blend got €20 while a bottle of Crested 10 for €15, a Jameson for €16 and a Connemara Malt for €19. No other comment here.

The Irish highlight of the auction was Midleton 26 year old which got €724.

There was Jameson 15 Very Special whiskey that got €152
a JJ12 hexagonal that got €202.

There was a Bushmills Millennium Malt 1975 that got €202 & a 1982 Cask strength that got €272.

There was also a couple of Bushmills Distillers Malts that got €200 & €202.

Another nice one was a Bushmills 21 year old Madeira finish that got €124.

Whisky online had an auction last night and here's a sample of what was on it.

Coleraine 1959 34 year old. £1,150.
Image

Dunvilles Special Liqueur £1050
Image

Lockes Liqueur Irish Whiskey late 50's -£875
Image

Box of 6 Bushmills Millennium malt -£625
Image

Dunvilles 3 Crowns 1/2 Bottle 1948 -£525
Image

Old Comber 7 year old Pure Pot Still -£525
Image

Box of 6 Bushmills Millennium Malt -£525
Image

Dunvilles 3 Crowns 1/2 bottle -£205
Image

Midleton 1992 -£205
Image

Midleton 1993 -£205
Image

Bushmills Vintage reserve 1988 -£185
Image

Old Comber 30 year old - £170
Image

Bushmills Millennium Malt 1982 -£165
Image

Old Comber 30 year old Presentation pack -£165
Image

Midleton 2001 -£155
Image

Old Comber 30 year old -£150
Image

Redbreast 12 year old 1980's -£150
Image

Bushmills Millennium 1975 -£125
Image

Bushmills Millennium 1975 -£110
Image

Colraine blend & Mushmills 12 year old Millennium -£72.50

Jameson 1970 from Bow street -£67.50
Image

There was a few others too but I didn't mention them. They were other Bushmills Malts and Jamesons but nothing worth noting I think. This auction had a great selection of Irish whiskeys and I hope to see more. All lots exclude commission+vat and P&P will also add to the cost.

I didn't purchase any as the commission and postage can be off putting, but I also have to take into consideration the exchange rate if I'm buying in UK auctions. A £100 bottle can soon cost €190 when all these are taken into account.

Did any one get the result of the Chiswick auction with this gem in it?

Lot-1001; Allman's pot still Irish whiskey 1916, made for capt r.e. Palmer 40 us proof. extremely rare

There was a couple of odd things about it. It was bottled in Nunns Island not Bandon as you'd expect and I think the 40% is under proof.

I know the auction was this week, but never checked it?
