Irish times take on Suntory buying Beam.
http://www.irishtimes.com/business/sect ... -1.1653648

What effect it'll have on Cooley/Kilbeggan is not clear as yet.

I'm relieved that Diageo are not involved.

Hi Patrick, this will not be available for a few years yet. A brand new distillery call Echlinville Distillery, in Kircubbinin, Co Down. Owned by Shane Brannif who is the creator of the Feck Irish Whiskey brand and by the looks of it owner of the Brand name Dunvilles too and will be re-introducing it to us.

I believe this may have been the cooley release originally and is possibly now on reserve stocks but I'm not 100%. This has been on the market for a good fwe years but seems to be sparsely available and mainly in the north. With a bit of looking you should be able top pick up one or 2 very cheaply. Try WhiskyExchange.

It may also be a once off bottling which I may not have heard about which would not surprise me.

Teeling have announced plans for their distillery and visitors center. There will be 30 jobs in it + 50 in construction. It was on RTE news so should be pod cast. I'm sure we'll see more about it in the next few days. Well done to all involved.

It's their news years resolution to try catch up on things. They probably had non-news from soap operas to report or who stubbed their toe dancing on the voice get me out brother factor.

I read this on the http://whiskybelfast.blogspot.co.uk page.

Dominic Roskrow released a range of Whiskeys called "Discovery Road" last year. They should be interesting to try out.

I seen this on Twitter and thought it should be posted here too.

Great for Teelings to be mentioned. When you consider how much better stuff they have available I wouldn't be surprised if they win a few more awards.

I read this one the whisky exchange blog http://blog.thewhiskyexchange.com/2014/ ... ry-crisis/

European New York journal.
http://m.europe.wsj.com/articles/SB1000 ... reno64-wsj

David Beckham is teaming up with Diageo to launch a new Haig. It's hoped it will attract younger drinkers. That's why they used a retired footballer!

Well he can't get pregnant like Beams latest brand ambassador. :)

I got some info from the RTE website earlier.
http://m.rte.ie/news/touch//business/20 ... h-whiskey/

Very little to go on. €1billion investment is huge.

I hope David can get more info.

I didn't see who the Irish Whiskey Association(IW) was made up of. I assume industry people, hopefully not a government quango.
