Redbreast 21

Let's talk whiskey.

I kind of thought I'd be disappointed by this whiskey, but not at all.

Nose: Buttery almonds. Boozey raisins. Vanilla.

Taste: Rich, oily dried fruit. Anise. You kind of want to chew it. A little metalic. Sour oranges. Not much malt.

Long finish. Very long.

Kind of everything I want in a whiskey.

It's available at www.whisy.fr. And probably a few places around Ireland too. German shops have it.

It did pretty well in the Malt Maniac Awards this year, which is great for a non-malt whisky.

Oof. All of the press up until now has stated a suggested retail price for Redbreast 21 in the US of $180. Now it looks like it will be $250, on par with the perennially higher Ireland prices. Less of an automatice decision now..
