On/Off & O'Hara's Irish Whiskey

I seen these in a French supermarket last week. Has anyone ever heard of them?

Were there any clues in the label small print?

The colouring is ridiculous, something I associate with retail/private labels made by Cooley, pre-Beam.

O'Hara's has been on the go a long time, I bought an O'Hara's 6 or 7 years ago. I'm guessing On/Off is the same company as the labels are virtually identical except for a bit of colouring here and there and of course the whiskey name.

Possibly these have had a contract with Cooley as I had it listed as a Cooley.

It was a cooley supermarket blend at the time of Jim Murray's "classic Irish whiskey" book (circa 1998????).

What's interesting is the the Carlow Brewing Company are now distilling, and they use the O'Hara's name on their beers - I wonder who owns the brand name?

The whiskey is Cooley and the brands are owned by Intermarche. It is old inventory with a new label.
