Northern Ireland distilleries

We knew this company was planning a distillery in Derry but it sounds like they have planning permission now:

I'm a little confused by the article because this company submitted an application to convert their current site ages ago. Funding of the distillery (on a new site) depends on that going through but somehow it's still not decided on.

I renamed this thread because there are now applications for two more distilleries up North...

fascinating stuff David. Glad to see Down distilling again. Any idea what they intend to make? maybe a trip north is in order in the not too distant future
