Alberta Premium 25 year old 40%

For non-Irish whiskeys

Alberta Premium 25 year old 40%

Colour: Deep gold

Nose: Polished wood, Demerara sugar, vanilla, sweet, caramel, wintergreen, pepper, perfume

body: very light

Palate: Wintergreen, oak, more dark sugar, perfume, ginger, floral, vanilla

Finish: Spice, cinnamon?, bitter chocolate, oak creeps in.

A bit simple and one-dimensional like all 100% Rye. None the less it is very drinkable, enjoyable, and interesting.

Hi Joel,

Purely for curiousities sake, were you able to pick up/sample the 30 yo that was released in 2011? How do they compare?

Not so far, but I'm on the lookout.

Good luck with your hunt! The Ontario batch (apprx 720 bottles, iirc) sold out in less than six months. People couldn't believe the $50 list price for a 30 yo bottling.

I would add my two cents but I wanted to hear what anyone who has tried it thought? It is in the Place Bar, Long Hall, Stags Head, and several other good whiskey pubs around Dublin if you want to try before you buy.
