Bargain Buys (whiskey, whiskey books, etc)

Let's talk whiskey.

Just after leaving Tescos with a basket of whiskey.

Jameson Select Reserve €35
Talisker €43
Cragganmore €43
Black Bush €25
Woodford Reserve €38

and for the craic Jim Beam Devil's Cut €24

Regular Jameson is 2 for €40. I had a look at the back label and it's from the French Market. I suppose it's still buying Irish.

Have the bottles myself, but a bargin compared to a glass of 19year old Greenore in Hugh Lynch's in Tullamore 33 euros, I told the barman I know its the oldest Irish grain whiskey in the world, but were not in the ice bar in Dublin now! Had a writers tears instead for 6 euros, it went down so easy, Lynchs worth a visit if your ever at the Tullamore Dew Centre it's just a short walk around the corner.

I need your advice:
is 27 pounds a good price for The Balvenie Doublewood Malt 70Cl?
and Isle Of Jura Malt Whisky 70Cl?
and is it possible to use Parcel Motel to order whiskey from british tesco? they have Dalwhinnie for 25 pound quite often, in Galway that whiskey costs 60e...

The Irish Whiskey Collection at Dublin Airport has set some prices the same for the EU "duty paid" area as for the duty free area, which has led to a couple of reductions - Redbreast 15 is c. €64 (I think) Power's John's Lane is €50, Writers Tears is €30; there are a couple more deals like that.

other retailers should do the same, and then we will stop buying from UK and other EU airports on return...

Check out the new gin/whiskey bar which opened on 27 Leeson St Lr last weekend called House, Dublin. Classy! Whiskey still in it's infancy but will grow with demand!
