"Each expression is presented in a premium bottle"

Looks like a standard whisky bottle to me. Also every last one ex-bourbon?! Time to vary the selection a bit! In the words of Mr. T: "You're making me mad! Gerrrrrr!"

Your right Joel,
There's nothing innovative with them any more.
I don't want to sound ungrateful but at the premium prices and limited numbers they are doing nothing to develop Irish Whiskey in my opinion. I know it's marketing but I wish they'd go another route.
They are just bling for a few exclusive outlets and accessible to only a few.

I am however very happy with the society's bling

I thought it was better when they just had a few exclusives such as The Master Distillers and the 20th Anniversary bottling.
I wonder what's in the pipeline for the 30th anniversary of the Midleton very rare and in 2025 the bicentenary of the Midleton distillery.
I better start saving now.

i agree with the sentiments expressed. Everyone now wants their own
exclusive bottling but the prices are astronomical . the Millenium collection
was'nt bad at the time when I got them compared to comparable whiskies
now. :!:

I think that if we were told that IDL would be releasing these whiskeys a few years ago, we'd be over the moon.

I'd like a bit more variety and better value, but it's great that single cask whiskeys like this are available.

The pricing has more to do I believe with the retailers pricing the
'exclusivity' in at a very high level rather than what they are paying
IDL . The grat value of our Society bottling being a case in point !!

I'm pretty sure retailers pay a lot for these single casks.

I agree with JohnM, we would be thrilled to have gotten single casks a couple of years ago. So these casks are hugely welcome in that context.

Pricing of course is another issue altogether, and it is disappointing to have the single casks out of reach of most. The society members are not the target audience for these bottlings but rather those who make a once off super premium purchase annually imho.

I for one am eternally grateful for the society cask, and it gave all members a chance to sample a superlative whiskey without having to pay the prices discussed here.

I can only compare the Midleton Single Casks to the Diageo Special Releases in terms of price, they sell out quickly but many fans bemoan the pricing.
