Old bottle of Jameson

Hi all, I have an old bottle of jemeson and would love to know how old it is,
It's a 26 and 2/5 fl. ozs bottle of crested ten and says bow st distillery Dublin
It also says liquor bottle Ireland on the base of it
Any help on this would be great thanks Dave

PS Your Crested Ten was first launched in 1963, so most likely your bottle will date from mid 1960s to mid 1970s, unless it is a more modern version

Hi tried putting a pic up but it's to big, I would think its old enough as there is very little print on it, not much advertisement. Any idea what price range it would be? Also it's 70% I've only seen ones 40%

With out a picture it is impossible to say. It's not going to be worth huge money anyway as it was just a blend. If from the 70's it's probably only worth 40 or 60Euro but one from the 60's will probably be worth a bit more. But it would be hard to tell whether it was 60's or 70's unless we had a picture. If from the 80's only worth about 30Euro. But in saying it is 70% it is probably pre 80's. Does it have a Green or Brown bottle? Off White or cream label? Is the crest red or yellow? Is the crest round (ish) or shield like? Does it have a neck collar? We really need to know the minute detail to date it and a picture is the only way.

70% proof is equal to 40% abv and we officially changed to abv in 1980.

Hi Dave, I've attached a photo of two early one's I own.

One is early 70's with the 70 proof.
the other is mid 60's I believe. It has a cork and doesn't state size or strength.

Is your one similar?

I don't know what there worth but I know there worth but I've had good offers for the one with the cork.

Hi Dave got that, I reckon this is a 70's version and probably only worth 40-50Euro.

Willie's 1960's version with the cork possibly €100.

What do others think? I don't mind being corrected.

TheWhiskeyBro was doing a bit of research and seemingly the early Crested Ten was a more robust Jameson version to compete with Paddy and Powers. So looking for the same kick as the market leaders of the time, the only difference was Crested Ten was sherried like it's younger brother Jameson. Had a high pot still content too in the early years of over half.

Thanks again for all the help its nice to know a little more about the bottle to get some kind of age
But as its my first proper one to collect I think it will sit nicely up on shelf in the sitting room
Knowing someday I will really enjoy having a drink from it

Not a PPS but it was sold as a deluxe blend.

The more I think about it the more I think it would make a great tasting night.

I would gladly put a bottle forward.
