John Power & Son Dublin Whiskey Gold Label

Postby Joel1802 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:18 am

Distilled at John's Lane bottled late 60s. Sample taken from what appears to be a 2 1/2 ounce mini, but no volume or strength stated.

Colour: gold

Nose: sweet, perfumed and floral, but some industrial, muted, faint herbicide and tool shed

Body: coating

Palate: huge burst of old pot still, icing sugar, sweet, industrial, then grain (hard), spicy

Finish, spicy with old pot still industrial notes (machine shop) and grain

Very different from the modern version. 86
