I took a snap in the CWS last week, and sampled them. They are Cooley blends, it seems. The liqueur was kinda nice; I'd like to revisit it anyway.

It doesn't look like anything I'll be buying any time soon. One designed for the tourists methinks.

Why don't they just have this on the label and be done with it?

Hi David,

Afaik these whiskeys are produced by http://irishfiddlerwhiskey.com/ from casks previously acquired from Cooley a number of years ago.

Heide at the http://www.irelandwhiskeytrail.com seems to have the lowdown.

Apparently whiskey enthusiast Colm Redmond is behind this Galway whiskey, who knows he may even have aspirations for a distillery???

It is featured in Heidi's article here http://www.irelandwhiskeytrail.com/?pg=Zetland_Country_House_Hotel_Connemara.php

Martine Nouet, whiskey writer, consultant and food & whiskey matcher worked on the project for/with Colm.

Colm is the owner of the http://www.zetland.com/

Well it does say Ireland's best kept secret on the Fiddlers label ... So maybe that's why ...?

All three are from the same company. Two are blends and one is a liqueur.

I heard about that particular project a few months back and remember feeling like I knew less about it afterwards than before the brief. The 'accolade' of Ireland's best kept secret could really be attributed to the entire venture, never mind one release within the range. Hard to understand this given the opportunity for promotion afforded to fledgling distilleries by the Irish Whiskey Society.
