What closed distilleries have you managed to find bottles for to date?
Fionnán wrote::shock: nuns island?! what are you, the boogey man? And if so, do you have any intention of bringing any of these round for halloween?

I remember reading about a bottle from Nun's Island that fetched a crazy price at auction a few years back. It must have been like that Only fool and Horse's final episode when they hit the big time at an auction with an item they had in storage.

It never fetched a crazy price but they were asking for one.
Raven wrote:Sorry Joel your one is definitely not the bottle in question as i still have hard copies of the article
and the label on that one was in good condition.First reported in the Irish Mirror on a bad news day
12.7.2005 and hyped after that as the Sky was the limit during the Celtic Tiger years.
The Whiskey expert Kenneth Thomas who has a Whisky speciality shop in Swindon, England was reported
as saying he thought it was initially worth 30,000 Euro but then realized 'it was worth a staggering 140,000
Euro' What a load of Tosh !! A bit like the Bulgarian apartments that were being flogged off here at the time.
It also meant as a result of this article and it being taken up by other papers that people holding 1 or 2 old bottles
simply had totally unrealistic expectations until the Tiger crashed and burned
