Be still my beating heart! What are the chances of this (rumoured) bottling getting to retail without being "intercepted"?

Sorry Luke nothing here ... I wonder if it is a typo and the 12yo release of the 12yo Cask strength which is usually released in limited quantities.

John Hansell confirmed above that it's not a Typo - 21YO definitely.

But at what strength?

Bourbon-matured?

Port Ellen money?!

He mentions that it is a special release for later this year so may not be announced for a while yet. By the sound of it I think you may be right about the PE price tag and it will probably sell out like hot cakes too.

I was at Lagavulin two week's ago. They were coy but this will be a bourbon cask whisky and will be great.

Lagavulin 21 year old. 2,772 bottles, £350 Only the second 21 year old ever bottled by the original distillers. Vatted from first fill ex-sherry European Oak casks each at least 21 years old, filled in 1991.

Sounds yummy ... on the expensive side in a way but I have a feeling this will be a big hit and a good investment for those with the cash to splash on this.

There does seem to be a potential discrepancy however...the TWE listing is for a full sherry cask whisky from 2007 while 'VazTe's comment suggests that the current release may be a bourbon cask bottling. Can someone provide some confirmation as to the "technical specs" of the new release?
