Bushmills is Sponsoring this years Irish Open Gold championship so I wonder ...

... is this a new Bushmills on the block or is this just an Adverting bottle done up especially for the photo call.

I would reckon an Advertisig mock up one one hand but the packaging is very interesting and looks like a bit of time & thought went into it so maybe a special edition for the Irish Open

They are offering some kind of Bushmills for the winner to have at the distillery, like the ones at Bowmore. You get a key if you win...

Jaysus ... the sponsorship deal has really taken a dive ... a Bottle of Bushmills for the winner. Not great for four days of golf.

Says Colum Egan:

"As part of our landmark sponsorship, I’m offering a unique prize for the golfer that wins the tournament. As well as offering the ‘Freedom of the Distillery’, I am also going to place a bottle containing a special blend of Bushmills Irish Whiskey in a bespoke cabinet, handmade from oak that is used in the whiskey making process. That bottle will have pride-of-place right here at the distillery and it will only ever be opened by the winner himself."

Your mission, IWC, when you get up to the gig, is to get us a sample of the "special blend".

Spotted this on ebay ... looks like they have repackaged the 12yo distillery reserve too.

Probably have it done for a while anybody know when it came in?

I got a bottle around October last year which was the 'old' one and got another bottle nearly 2 months ago and is the 'new' one. Somewhere in that range is the closest I know

Theh had both bottles when I was there last month. It is the same whiskey inside.
