There is a double benefit to this ... say in 13-14years time when the Tullamore Distillery is solely producing for the Tullamore range. i.e. Midleton & Cooley are no longer providing the constituents of Tullamore. From then on especially Midleton will have all that extra capacity to bolster/expand on their own ranges.

Yes, starting right now ... Regular Tullamore is limited to only around 600,000 cases per year ...

Quick snap them up ... ;)

in my opinion a hoover is the proper place for most of them-- always been my least favorite midleton product. that being said, I have tremendously high hopes for the brand's rebirth in this new distillery. Is it really going to take 2 years before they start actually distilling or do they plan to commence production before the 50 acre site's totally complete?

Superb news for the town of Tullamore, fair play to Grants. 2014 they will start production. It will be in the heart of Tullamore beside the beautiful canal.Well done to everyone involved. New Vistors centre opening in the summer I think.

That was quicker that expected. Great news for everyone. Grants said last year that they intended to make a considerable investment in Tullamore Due. Men and women of their word. Well done all.

Stockpile? If I'm going to stockpile anything with the Tullamore name on it it'll be Willie Napier. I wonder if there will be any attempt to emulate or take inspiration from the old distillery? I suspect not as they'd probably not want to change the flavour profile of the blend too drastically. On the bright side this will probably lead to more PPS on the market.

I wonder what the likely impact will be for the current range. I'd very much doubt that they'll mothball the current titles but certainly the constituents may well change. Like many of the previous posters, I think the brand has suffered in recent years and fell out of favour with the mainstream whiskey connoisseur in Western Europe.

hopefully things do change. i cant stand the standard tullamore spew. Like something between juiced metal and grapefruit dipped in liquid tetnis. Neck and neck with paddy's for most disappointing irish whiskey i can think of. not a credit in the least to the old B. Daly's distillery
