I just noticed that the society's president is taking part in the current WhiskyCast.

Listening to it now...

Excellent! Leo is very impressive with the facts, figures and analysis. Should be worth another percent or two of growth for the Irish whiskey category :D

Lots of mention of the society and its tastings too. Top job!

I was listening in also. Well done Leo, nice commentary with some excellent detail for those wishing to broaden their understanding of our national spirit.

Hi Guys,

I wasn't sure when it was going to be broadcast, but the interview was done early on the morning of the 31/12/11.

It was largely unscripted so I am reasonably pleased and good exposure for the society.

Let me know what you think, welcome your feedback.

Regards Leo

my god there're a lot of adds and marketing regurgitations for the first 8 minutes... (Glenmorangie! unnecessarily well made! etc) but i suppose they need to make money. Excellent interview once it gets going. well done Leo!

In the intervju there are mentioned five releases during 2011 of Singel Pot Still whiskey. What are these releases?

Possibly

These

Barry Crocket Legacy

Powers 12yo John's Lane

And also the rebranding of Greenspot & Redbreast 12yo, permanent release of Redbreast 15yo.

These are probably what are being referred to.

Redbreast Cask Strength was then released at a later date so 6 in all

I think the five referred to includes the two single casks:

Midleton Single Cask 'The Irish Whiskey Collection' at Dublin Airport
Midleton Single Cask 'Celtic Whiskey Shop'
Powers John's Lane
Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy
Redbreast 12yo Cask Strength

Hope that clears it up...

Whiskycast will be broadcasting from Bow Street on St Patrick's day. Or be recorded there anyway.
