New Forum set up.

Postby IrishWhiskeyChaser » Wed Mar 18, 2009 8:34 pm

Ok all, thanks to DavidH we have just created a new more usable forum with much better functionality.

Please have a look through the forum as it appears currently and let us know what you think of the new Forum set up.

Please vote honestly (you can select 2 options if you want) and let us know your thoughts and ideas. i.e. you want some titles dropped or new ones added or some renamed even.

Cheers looking forward to hearing from you all.

It would be nice to also have a collectors/connoisseur's corner where we list the following,
(1) Show off your inventory
(2) Bottle for Exchange - Swap
(3) Bottles Wanted - Wants Lists
(4) Members Bottles For Sale
(5) Bargain buys

First thoughts on some of the sub-threads

Yes could be an Idea for a sub forum.

We'll have to discuss the Swap/Sell/exchange part as a group. This exact topic has caused a lot of fuss on another forum with sour results so something to think hard about.

No probs

This section is already a whole seperate forum for Society stuff so I think we could put that in here somewhere. We will probably need to make more sub forums in here anyway and could use it in conjunction with the Polls forum.

I like the new forum. The old one was a bit clunky, while this one uses software that will be familiar to forumers everywhere. I think this will encourage more posting than we had seen previously. Great job of the setup so far guys.

Cheers

This one already seems to be steaming along a lot faster than the old green one though Adrian. It really is looking good.

Thanks Willie we all appreciate it ... in all fairness the old one was a means to an end but did not really encourage posts as it was so unstable.

Hopefully this will get us motoring though.

Thanks, Mark. I have been terribly bad about posting on other whiskey forums these last few months (a self-imposed isolation because of work) but you can be sure I sneaked a few looks at your site before installing the software here. It's definitely the one to emulate.
