I'm fortunate to have a few Karuizawas, and to have purchased them before the money got silly. I recently contacted a seller in Japan in an attempt to get hold of some Japanese releases but no luck. He wasn't optimistic about the future either. That just leaves No1 Drinks and their prices, as they are the ones holding all the stock.

Yeah. I have a few from over the years. I really like the style and all the ones I've tasted so far. We'll see what the prices are, I suppose.

Down to the dregs of my Last 1971 ... bought 2 for under a hundred each in 2008 8-)

Was very tempted to sell one when it was easily fetching 400 but it is very good so opened it

I see they are now fetching 6-800 regularly.

I tried a sample of your 1971 and it was very good. Something different about the Karuizawas. The 1971 was a very big whisky.

Ok, so I got the Karuizawas I wanted, so now I'm retiring - assuming they don't produce any more Karuizawas, Midleton single pot stills, old single cask Longmorns, single cask Glendronachs, Bowmores, Highland Parks...

I recently got a miniature bottle of William Jameson original Irish American brand Whiskey.
It's 1/10 a pint. The Label states that it contains 25% 20 year old Irish Pot Still Whiskey and 75% Straight Whiskey 18 months old.I though it would have been 2-3 year old Straight Whiskey. A lovely little addition to the collection and for €6.99 and $12 postage Ebay does have some real bargains

Which Karuizawas John?

Three 1981s from La Maison du Whisky. They sold out pretty fast, although there's one of the bottlings left, I think.

No big "special" ones :(
but over the Christmas I got the following:

- Powers John's Lane (yummmmmmmy),
- Tullamore Dew BLACK
- Sainbury's Lun Leire (new packaging, ?? not as good as last two batches)
- Tyrconnell 11yr (Andrew A. Watt & Co)

Nice selection there Dec. The Powers is v. nice, full of flavour. The Tullamore Black is also a really good drop! Is the Tyrconnell 11yr the Whiskey Live one?

One bottle each of Black, White and Gold Bowmore.

I might be making this bit up

And

Clynelish 28 (TWE Bottling)
Glenfarclas 21
Knockando 21

The last two are not expensive at all by most standards.

This bit is true

That Clynelish is one of the ones I'm trying to resist at the moment, along with the Rosebank 21.

I gave in and bought the new Whisky Exchange Karuizawa 1981 today. The banks are still lending money to buy whisky, right?

I think the Mars Whisky Association may have something to say about that one. Expect an interplanetary court battle any day now.

I wonder does it help you work, rest and play ...

It does help with the rest and play. Not so much the 'work'. :D

Some more arrived today, so those fed up/not interested with pictures of Japanese stuff look away now (these are the last for now).

Another one of these.
