Ok, I've edited my own post I don't know how many times... So I'll rewrite it...
This recent article in the Indo contains the usual errors - http://www.independent.ie/lifestyle/foo ... 72679.html
However, the big one seems to be about reindeer skins found by the Liffey that suggest that they were triple-distilling whiskey in Ireland in pre-Christian times. I believe the source is a March 2002 Whisky Magazine article by Barry Walsh. Now I'm pretty sure it's an April Fools' Day article. The main character in it is called Pah-Dee... I must admit I fell for it myself the first time, not knowing the date of the article. Maybe journos should contact the Irish Whiskey Society before they publish this kind of stuff.
