Three cases of Bourbon  wow sounds like a haul. Please expand let us know what you got .... Were they mixed cases and is it for personal use. We have limited access to bourbon over here so it is nice to hear what others can get.

Yes, I'd love to hear what's good so I know what to try if I go over there.

Lets see. I picked up a Redbreast 15 that I have been looking forward to trying. As for bourbon I picked up the following:

Four Roses Yellow Label: 6 bottles
Four Roses Single Barrel: 6 bottles
Four Roses Small Batch: 6 bottles
Old Fitzgerald BIB: 1 liter bottle
Buffalo Trace: 1 case
Old Charter 10 year old: 1 case
Eagle Rare 10 year old: 1 case

These are for my own use. I have to order these as I cannot get them in Southeast New Mexico where I live and have to order them and pay shipping which eats your lunch. When I travel I stock up on items that I have to order. Needless to say my bunker is full . The truck was loaded down and the liquor store clerk was happy to see me come in. It was a successful trip bunker wise :D

Matt
Congrats on the Green Spot. That's another Irish we don't get on my side of the pond. I would really like to try it someday.

Hi,
you never no what is happening. Up until now (2011) the Green Spot was distributed by Mitchell & Son only, from now on most likely it will be in the portofilio of Pernod Ricard.

So you hopefully get it on your side in the future.

One can always hope. I don't have a very good selection of Irish Whiskey where I live. I can only get the standard versions of Jameson, Bushmills,Tullamore Dew and Redbreast. For any of the aged expressions I have to order it and get raped on shipping.

Ah, thinking about it, that makes sense. The hosting company moved us to a new server during the week but I only updated the DNS settings last night. So for a brief period there were two copies of the forum.

My bad, I should have jumped on the DNS more quickly. Sorry!

Ardbeg Alligator
Midleton Terminal 2
Laphroaig Cairdeas
Powers 12

and a few more that I've forgotten about.

I just got my hands on 2 bottles of Redbreast Blend.
one is lighter in colour than the other too.
There is a 71 on the bottom of one of the bottles.the label is a bit faded but if it's from 1971 it looks great.
the other one is perfect.
i tried buying on a few years back on whiskyauctions.com but it hit €150 and i pulled out.thankfully these didn't go so high.

Redbreast Blend or Redbreast Pure Pot Still? - The vast majority of Redbreast over the years has been Pure pot still in various versions of the "dumpy" bottle. There was briefly a blend in a more standard taller bottle in the mid 2000s. Didn't last too long and wasn't that well received but i thought it was ok.

It says pot still blend.
I found a photo on Irish Whiskey Chaser's site if it helps.
My knowledge is not quotable about them, i only speculate about the 71 on the bottom, but since they do have barcodes they should be more recent.
I have drank it in a few old pubs where it was on the shelves for years and found it very pleasant.
here that photo link

Hopefully Irish Whiskey Chaser wont mind me using his vast knowledge and resources.

Yeah I know that one - It's a blend but pretty definitely not from the 70's - the recycling logo is a dead giveaway if nothing else - you're talking about 21st century.

Still though I haven't seen one of these in ages - if you don't mind me asking where did you pick them up - I'd love to get another one to try.

This is a failed blend from IDL.

Was introduced only in the early 2000's.

And feel free to use the links to pics on my site ... the whole idea of the site is to share with other enthusiasts what is out there.

The only think I don't like is people using my pictures to sell there's on ebay or people using stock photo's for that matter. It should always be an actual photo of the bottle for sale.

Nice haul there. I opened an Eagle Rare 17 tonight to accompany a Cohiba I had on the porch after the sun went down tonight.
