Connemara Recommendations

Postby damienmcguigan » Mon May 09, 2011 1:46 pm

Hey.
I am looking to get a bottle of Connemara for someone who likes smokey beers but is not too big a whiskey drinker. I know they like the Lockes 8YO which has slighy smokiness to it.
I was wondering if anyone can recommend which Connemara to get?
Thanks

Well if he likes smokiness there's always Connemara Turf Mor .... the smokiest of them all ....

I'm kinda fond of the Connemara Cask Strength, I find a little drop of water opens this up very nicely and doesn't dampen down the smokiness.

By the sounds of it you friend may not yet be into the big bold full on peated whiskies.

I would maybe plumb for one of the single casks as they are a bit more subtle and refined compared to the others.

Agreed, and Connemara is much better for it. The Single Casks are a top class whisky.
