We would like you to try and follow a certain protocol so we can keep this section as a handy reference for tasting notes and descriptions. It will be a resource to consult when considering the purchase of a bottle of whiskey.
- One whiskey per topic, eg Redbreast 12yo, Powers Regular, etc
- Post your individual tasting note under the correct title. If the topic already exists, just add your note by selecting POSTREPLY. If it is not there just create a new topic.
- A tasting note is usually broken into the following categories:
- Full Name (to include % ABV) & year of bottling/release in title
- Nose
- Taste
- Finish
- Comment
- and, possibly, Score. If scoring out of 10 or 100 or whatever, please make this clear, eg ?/10 or ??/100.
- It is not necessary to be very descriptive; just write what you feel. Everybody is different and will get different characteristics from an identical whiskey. Remember there is no right or wrong when it comes to describing what YOU think and have fun with it.
