colour: straw

nose: Musty, dusty, grainy, sweet, lyle's golden syrup, glue, polished oak, porridge, perfume, becomes even sweeter over time

body: light

palate: herbicide, sweet syrup, grainy, geraniums, glue, mint appears later

finish: herbicide, brown sugar, syrup, becomes bitter, porridge again.

Three Crowns is richer, less grainy, more herbicide and sherry. Obviously the same distillery, both are outstanding whisky. 88 at first blush, side by side a point below the Three Crowns. It is younger, similar, but lighter whisky.
