Best Buy and Hold?

Postby ssascott » Tue Nov 01, 2016 3:00 am

If you had to buy something today and hold for 10 years, what would you choose? Would it be for a price increase? Sublime flavour? Rarity for the home bar?

Some thoughts.

Midleton, any year
Exclusive Malts
Nectar of the Daily Drams
Any number of the new and possibly limited labels.
Redbreast 25, 21, 15, 12, etc.
Barry Crockett
Dair Ghaelach (which tree?)
Glendalough 13 year
Kilbeggan 18 year
Greenore 8 year-discontinued
Tyrconnell Cask Finished
Knappouge Castle Vintage-1992, 1995
Barr an Uisce

So many I wish I could have, but not wealthy! Am fortunate to have a few. Interested in your thoughts.

I'd go for the Dair Ghaelach's ...... Limited batch, small numbers of each trees.

I think maybe the RVR is worth getting. Nicely presented and a lovely whiskey.

The Independent Teeling 1988 to 1981 are also great whiskeys. They can be good value too, given their uniqueness.
