Welcome to the forum, from a fellow 'North Notts' whiskey lover.

I PM'd you with regards to possibly swapping a few samples in the future.

Most people i know support ManU. The rest tend to follow the Sheffield teams. I was a Sheff Utd fan way back. I still keep an eye on results but thats about it. These days i 'support' any good football, therefore i haven't watched an England game since Erikson took over ( i watched the world cup though :x ). It seems to me that the idiots that run the game in this country do all they can to hamper the game for this country.

I can't believe I've been around whisky this long and just discovered this forum (thanks to WWW).

Malt Maniac since 1998.
Have a website devoted to Canadian Whisky
Love pure pot.
Love good grain.
Love Greenore.
Driven to distraction by people who insist there is a correct way to spell whisky. (You don't spell whisky, you savour it.)
Tend to lurk until I have something to say.
Had a great Jones Road not long ago.
Would really really like to try more of the old Irish distilleries.

Welcome Davin. Our third Malt Maniac on board, I think. Maybe our first Canadian?

Maybe you could fill us in on the best Canadian whiskies...

Welcome Davin ... great to have you on board as JohnM says please educate us on Canadian Whisk(e)y.

No big deal on the spelling as the Irish Distilleries in the old days used to spell it both ways, as you say people can get too caught up on semantics and not the actual whisk(e)y. My pet hate would be people who insist on nothing but single malt whisk(e)y but I suppose the Irish industry is comming fom a different angle.

Great to hear from Canada - welcome Davin!

I don't think there is one right way to spell 'whiskey' either but I'm no fan of 'whisk(e)y' and I really dislike 'whisk(e)ys'. Just pick one ;)

Hey Everyone-

My name is Pat Murphy, and I live in the states - upstate New York to be more precise. I am a relative newbie to whiskeys, and have so far stuck to Jameson and Paddy's. While on my honeymoon in Ireland a few years ago I bought a bottle of Redbreast, and really enjoyed it. I look forward to learning and tasting more in the future!

Cheers,
Pat

Hi Pat, welcome to the forum, sounds like you are ready for the Jameson 12, a big leap from the standard Jameson at a reasonable price (at least here in Ireland), be careful it is a slippery slope once you get to enjoy Irish. You must be pleased to see Paddy more easily available in the states.

Pat, you are part of a growing number of American members, myself included, most in the Northeast. Boston, NYC, northeast PA, NJ and I believe Baltimore are represented here.

Welcome Evans Edwards, hope you get use out of the forum ... strange that you went looking for a Beer site and ended up in a whiskey forum.

Just to let you know I have moved your post into the Introduce Yourself thread as we are one big happy family here ;) .

Hi everyone, thought I'd join this forum since I love whiskey, whisky, and everything else in between! I have only been to Ireland once and I loved it, didn't love the drink prices  but I'm going to Limerick next month and Dublinin June also. Hopefully in June going to Jameson's and Guinness sites. Thanks!
