"A cute little confection that looks just like little potatoes. This kind does not contain potatoes; they are made using cream cheese and coconut."

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners' sugar
2 1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Directions
1.In a medium bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add the vanilla and confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. Using your hands if necessary, mix in the coconut. Roll into balls or potato shapes, and roll in the cinnamon. Place onto a cookie sheet and chill to set. If desired, roll potatoes in cinnamon again for darker color.

Only along the south coast of Ireland, where the coconuts grow.

 No, can't say that I've ever tasted it. Sounds nice though, you never know it might catch on!

Sounds good, but I can't figure out any ethnic or national references to the recipe.

It sounds more Indian than Irish.

I THINK THAT SOMEONE JUST MADE UP THE NAME BECAUSE THE CINNAMON COATING MADE THEM LOOK LIKE SMALL POTATOES. But they were tasty no mater what the origin. I told all my friends about the candy not being heard of in Ireland ans they got a kick out of the cocpnut tree thing in southern ireland.

Thanks all for the responces :D

Maybe reshape them slightly and pass them off for Easter eggs?
