Kilbeggan Distillery tasting September 2010

Hi all,

I just got some info about the whiskeys we will sample tonight

We are surely the lucky ones to taste some of these whiskeys for the first time

New Spirit Kilbeggan Malt (from the 1st mash since 1953)

Peated Kilbeggan Malt

Heavy Peated Cooley Malt

and some more...

i can not tell everything

so see yous tonight

i can not wait till 8pm

Even though I was not there I have heard that it was a night to remember and some excellent examples were produced for tasting.

Would love to here the full (or as close as you can) story

1. Kilbeggan New Spirit 30/9/10 (about 3 days old) from one of the first mashes at Kilbeggan since 1953.
2. Kilbeggan Distillery Reserve Batch 0001 6/10 (June 2010) [L10117]
3. Kilbeggan Blended Irish Whiskey [L10118]
4. Tyrconnell 10yo CWS Single Cask Mallorcan Wine Finish [L10156]
5. Kilbeggan Distilled Peated malt KD09/01 Cask # 8, d. 30/1/2009
6. COOLEY Heavily Peated malt K07/03 Cask # 392, d. 2/5/2007
7. Connemara Peated Single Malt nas [L10150]

Sampling Bottles:

1. Kilbeggan Finest Irish Whiskey Aged 15 Years Old [L10042]
2. Greenore Single Grain Irish Whiskey 15 Years Old [L10033]
3. Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish Whiskey [L10167]

I left out the great stories Brian tells. I would be there all night writing otherwise. He told us that he has recorded these stories onto CD for posterity.
