Questions for Society Survey 2010

Postby TheWhiskeyBro » Sat Jun 26, 2010 9:41 am

Hi everyone, input required from all quarters,

Later in the Autumn the society are hoping to survey all comers, members, forum, mailing list etc.

The purpose is to help develop the society, continue in the right direction, hear what people want from the society, get constructive feedback and plan for the future

What questions should we be asking?

An online survey of about 20 questions is planned using this tool http://www.surveymonkey.com/ (alternative suggestions welcome)

So please contribute any suggestions for questions, or feedback that the society requires!

Sample Q1: How many tastings have you attended (a) 0-1 (b) 2-4 (c) 5-7 (d) 8 or more

If you answered (a) what reason would you give for not attending more tastings

if you answered (b), (c) or (d) what attracts you to attend the tastings

Are you a member?
Where do you live? (Dublin, Ireland but Outside Dublin, Elsewhere (Specify))

Rather than the multiple choices on that last question ("what type of activities would you like to see more of?"), I'd just give a box and a more general question ("What would you like to see the society do in the future?"). Reason: the answer to the question as phrased is, "of course I want more of all of these things".

If you have attended a tasting what aspect appeals most to you:

Tasting notes,
Bottling Information,
Distillery Information,
Price & availability
Brand history
Powerpoint presentations etc...

This will have to corrrectly phrased for questionnaire

If I repeat excuse me ...

in no particular order

Where did you hear about the IWS?

What do you want from the IWS?

How can we improve the IWS?

What tastings would you like to see in the future?

How many tastings a year do you attend (out of 11)?

Do you think the IWS membership represents value for money.

Are you interested in IWS private bottlings?

Would you support IWS Scotch Single Malt Whisky private bottings?
