PPS Tasting

Postby John » Fri Aug 07, 2009 12:32 pm

HI All,
Any plans for a society pure pot still tasting event? Couldn't see anything on the calendar.
Cheers,
John.

The next three events are probably a Connemara Vertical Tasting, Bushmills, Grand Crew & Tyrconnell. Beyond that it's a bit hazy. A Green Spot special is something we would like to do, if we could get Mitchells involved. Perhaps that was your own suggestion?

Would be nice to get one going all right but I suppose realistically it will be next year.

Something to look forward to.

Possibly we should discuss this as to get anything outside what's generally available will be quite expensive. SO some extra charges may need to be included unless you want to pick some stuff from the Jameson & Powers ranges also.

The only ones that are in any way affordable are the Jameson 15, Redbreast 15, Redbreast 12, Green Spot, and maybe the Greenspot 10

The Greenspot 12 and 10 are very nice, but very expensive for what they are, drinking-wise.

In addition a 1960s Powers PPS might be within the society price range for a tasting.

I also have 2 mystery German bottled PPS from the 70's which are well under 200Euro. Not sure if I want to sacrifice my Black Eagle but would definately offer up the Old Irish Gold.

I can offer an Old Comber for €300.

I also have a WIllie Napier which I can do for €300 (DOn't ask ;) )

Dungourney €375 (What it cost me in Duty Free)

Knappogue 1951 €440

think I'll stop there

I also have the Old Irish Gold over 24 years one. Can't afford to open it, though.

I'm sure I could manage a Jameson 7 yr old. I have one open anyway, but there's not enough left for a tasting.
