The President's Selection 2011

Postby IrishWhiskeyChaser » Sat Nov 26, 2011 12:26 am

Well it was that time of year again and a great night was had by all. Well I hope so ... I should not be so presumptuous ;)

Anyway a quick write up here as I've being slacking for a while now ....

Thank you, IWC, for all the detail and for being so quick off the mark. It made my write-up a lot simpler because I could just link to you for all the historical context and tasting notes :)

I've added the photos and bottle details to the society's event page, as usual:

And I've bunged up a few notes on my own site:

While I'm here... speaking as an ordinary member of the society, I'd like to thank Leo and the committee for a marvellous year of whiskey. There is nothing about 2011 that I'd want to change or improve. I learned tons about whiskey, in good company, 'nuff said.

And thank you too, to those who donated valuable bottles or supplied bottles way below market value to last Thursday's tasting. That is generosity above and beyond the call of duty.

We can always improve David .... we should always try to anyway :-)

It's been a good year alright .... tasted a lot of whiskies I've liked, a few I didn't but I've learned a good deal, onwards and upwards

Outstanding tasting.
This was my first meeting in Dublin.
I'll expect the same all the time now.

I'm a bit late in giving thanks, but better late than never.
Many thanks Leo for hosting a superb evening - a magnificent whiskey experience in good company.
Well done to any and all contributors (of bottles or information) to the evening - definitely one to live long in the memory.
Thanks too to Adrian and David for the write-ups.
