Interesting article - what it doesn't factor in is the reputation Irish Whiskey got as a result of all the illegal whiskey made of awful quality and passed off as Irish - hence Irish whiskey became sadly synonymous with poor quality and inferior whiskey .

It's great to see it making such a comeback and long may it continue !

The time line is slightly muddled too it give the impression that there were 100's of Distilleries in the 1920's but they started to fall away way before that. The reasons for the decline are fairly accurate though ... not a bad read and well done for the effort.
