A bottle of this has now come into my possession - is it worth opening and what should I compare it against?

Yes I would say it is worth your while ... but what to compare it against I'm not sure.

Obviously a PPS blend but I think the likes of Jamesno 12yo is a richer heavier whiskey. There's not grain in Writers tears and it again makes it a bigger bodied whiskey. So what to compare it too maybe a Crested Ten. But to be honest I'm not sure really as I have not done any comparisons yet  ... now you have set me a challange ... aaggghhh I'm going to have to have a few whiskeys tonight ... your a bad influence Iain

I know I know. It's just so I don't have to drink alone.

So you can taste the whiskey without having to drink it! Or course!

I know this is an old post but McCambridge's in Galway are selling this stuff! I got a taste of it off them and it's great stuff! 40 quid a bottle! bd) GReat value when you consider all these price hikes from IDL! My days of drinking Jameson products are done!

Fair play to you SpiritSpecialist, many thanks for the tip. A brace of them are winging their way to me as I write!
All the best,
John.
