New Whiskey from Silversprings International

Hi guys, check these out

http://www.silversprings.ie/whiskey/wol ... index.html

http://www.silversprings.ie/whiskey/hor ... index.html

Two new whiskies, targeted mainly at the US export market, one a blend and one a 12 year old, it is a Clonmel based company (Tullamore Dew has a local competitor ;) ), I'm presuming they are from the Cooley stable until I hear otherwise. I like the names, always thought a village like 'Horse and Jockey' deserved to have a whiskey named after it.

Still at the pre-launch phase I imagine.

See company profile here http://www.silversprings.ie/about.html

Registered as a company in September 2009 and website seems to be c. March 2010

Wolfhound Whiskey ... hmmmm interesting ... me thinks who ever is behind this may have been involved with Tullamore in a previous life.

Always good to have new Irish whiskey on the market. Hopefully they'll be good ones.

A 12yo single malt... certainly not your run-of-the-mill private or own label whiskey. I would very much like to try this, and the Wolfhound too, if I can infer it to be a quality offering from its aged sibling.

Was just up dating the links page on my site with the Silver Springs springs site.

I had a quick look around their site and noticed that Jonathan Duffy is behind the project. The name rang a bell and sure enough I tracked him down to Merry's who have a similar portfolio including a Single Malt and a blend. However I'm not sure if he has just left Merry's or Merry's has been knocked on the head and Silver Springs is the new business.
