Jack Teeling said it all;

"Irish whiskey is traditionally renowned for its quality. We are playing a key role in the renaissance of the category."

look at the whikeys they make;
connemara sherry finish, 12, the new single cask etc
tyrconnell 10 finishes, 15, new 18 in the CWS etc
kilbeggan 15

they are just a few, but there is no competiton and they are just simply the best whiskeys from ireland

congratulation to Cooley :thumbsup:

I would echo the sentiments above. Great result for Cooley.
Zoltan, the latest Tyrconnell in the CWS is a 17 though :geek:
In fairness to the new(ish) distillary, it goes to show what can be achieved with some innovation and a good consumer focus.

It's remarkable that we have one distillery that makes this kind of whiskey on the island and it turns out to be so good.

I wonder do you have to enter this competition. I wonder if Midleton enter it too.

Personally, the Midleton stuff is my favourite, very generally, but you get much more variety from Cooley and some brilliant whiskey too. A lot of it. It's hard to compare the two, of course.
