Malt Advocate deal

Given the level of the dollar, this is great value.

Link is not working for me ... what is the great deal guys???

I went in through the site and I saw 2 years for $75 ... which is circa €50 or about €6.25 an issue which is basically the similar as what Whiskey mag costs.

I presume you all know this is a quarterly .... i.e. four issues a year.

Got Mine today  ... Have not really had a read yet but looks ok. 88 pages but I'd reckon at least half are adverts but still plenty of content for that. Less frivilous than what the Whisky Mag had become.

Looking forward to other peoples thought once they get theirs.

Even if the deal was the same (which it isn't) I think the Malt Advocate is a better magazine. I've been getting it from an alternative good deal for a few years now and I always feel that MA has real content which is sometimes lacking from whiskymag.

I suppose it is more of an Enthusiasts Magazine than WM. I found the straying into Cocktails and Rum and the such a bit annoying and that was one of the resons that I jumped ship and the editorial was some what lax.

I think a quaterly may have more scope to concentrate on quality

There's a cocktails regular feature in MA but there's plenty of good stuff too. And the editorial quality is definitely much higher than WM although that isn't much of a challenge.

I dont know where you live David but there seems to be some postal "issues" in certain Dublin areas at present, test it out by posting a letter to yourself, i did, it took 4 days for it to arrive!!!!

4 days? Could you not just have called yourself on the phone? :D

I got my mag eventually last week. I flicked through it - nice and glossy. I'll try to do a proper review soon.
