What's your latest whiskey purchase?

Let's talk whiskey.

Bushmill's 16 year old. I wanted to get my hands on one for a while. Picked it up for €60 which is a fair price.

The LCBO continues to delay on re-stocking Jameson 18 so I put the rest of my 'birthday proceeds' to the Strong Malts collection pack of 20 cL bottles of Cragganmore 12 (never owned before, but have enjoyed the nose immensely (but still iffy on the palate) on samples that I have tried...this seemed like the perfect way to try it), Talisker 10 (now I can do side-by-side tastings with my Talisker 18!), and Lagavulin 16 (always good to have a back up to my full size bottle...one of my favourites!).

The pricing for this package in Ontario essentially allowed me to get the Cragganmore for free, compared to if I bought each 20 cL bottle separately!

This is likely my last acquisition until Christmas (I've tried to be a good boy, Santa! :) )
The wishlist is always growing...

Not a purchase per se but a swap with another member, Dutch, who sourced these in the states. Many thanks Dutch.

Beer Barrel Bourbon by New Holland Artisan Spirits Basically a brewery doing a bourbon finished in one of their own beer casks.

Image

Concannon Irish Whiskey. A cooley blend from the Concannon Vine yard and finished in petite sirah

Must say I'm a happy camper today 8-) Feel I did a bit better out of the swap though as I got 2 bottles for a Yellowspot hope it is worth it for you Dutch :?

Very much worth it for me, the Yellowspot is one fine dram that I can't get over here. Let me know what you think about yours when you have a chance to taste them.

Indeed...to my mind it should be consumed by (and preferably also in the cabinet of) every whisk(e)y drinker. Other staples for me would include Redbreast 12, Lagavulin 16, Glenfarclas 15, Highland Park 12 and/or Talisker 10, Highland Park 18, Auchentoshan 12, Glengoyne 10, and Evan Williams Single Barrel. I feel a new discussion thread starting... :geek:
