Four bottles of Grand Crew myself, plus a bottle of Powers from SuperValu. It seems I am very susceptible to peer pressure :)

I'm rather afraid I've started a "collection" now, much against my inclination :D Next thing you know, I'll be buying Scotch :o

Sounds good Michael if I'd be tempted to get a bottle myself and that price seems reasonable too.

Just got a delivery myself direct from my favourite Scottish Distillery ...

3 cask strengths and an 18yo of froyg 8-) ;)

went up to enniskillen yesterday and picked up 6 70cl bottles. i needed to stock up since i might not be up there for months. here is what i got:

laphroaig 10yo
talisker 10yo
jura 10yo
the bowmore islay single malt
ardmore highland peated single malt
highland park 12yo single malt

tried to mix it up a good bit. it was so crowded and stocks were low. im glad i got the jura though. its so different from all other whisky ive had. did a taste test on all of them last night. hard to pick a favorite because they are so different.....

Fair play Brett, a nice haul there ...

As you say a good mix there ... you can let us know what yoy think as you get to know them better.

Can't say I know too much about Jura as the only one I've ever tasted I was not overly blown away by and have neglected the Distillery since. Ardmore is another un explored distillery for me having only tasted only one expression also. The rest would be favourites ...

WHat did you make of Highland Park?

Were there any that did not impress you?

Which Bowmore ddid you get?

yea, i wanted to vary up the different styles as much as i could. i was intrigued by jura because its the only single malt to come out of the little island. it tasted of coffee and smelled of coconut to me. pretty cool dram. i thought the highland park was awesome. i picked up on the pineapple smell, which i thought was awesome. and the subtle smoke was a nice change to the tons of smoke from laph10yo. they all impressed me in some way. the bowmore i have just says bowmore islay single malt legend. i really picked up on the lemon zest with the bowmore. so different from the salty, shellfish taste of laph10yo. i will have to keep you updated on them as i taste again. i always seem to pick up more the second time around.

Ahh Bowmore Legend that is the youngest of the Bowmores I think but they don't give you an age statement.

There is also funny names like

Tempest (10yo)
Enigma (12yo)
Darkest (15yo)

as well as normally numbered age statement labels.

Looks like you have a nice base of Irish and scotch to tide you over for a good while now. It will be easier to just add one here and there from now on.

Have fun and don't drink it all over christmas ;)

yea, i thought it would be young since it was only £17, haha. its nice though.

got a nice base now for sure. i need to take a picture of the current stash. my parents get here next week, so it will be nice to do some taste testing with my dad. ive been drinking 1-2 drams every night, so lets hope it lasts, hahaha. i feel guilty if i have more than 1 good dram. usually do 1 good and then switch off to something cheaper
