Well I bought the 18 on your say so & I think it will be a standard in my drinks cabinette as long as I can afford it

All this Lap talk is making me very tempted ... but with a busted nose and medication I do not know if it is wise.

My most recent purchase is some bottles of the Locke's Grand Crew!
I have a bottle of each cask, and one spare 696 which is definitely getting cracked open at Christmas after the dinner!

Good morning all. My sisterinlaws birthday last week in Utrecht. My good wife arrived home with three bottles. A Signatory bottle of Ben Nevis NCF distilled 26.11.1993 and bottle on 01.02.2007. natural colour. viery light.
n
Next up a 35cl single cask Highland Park 12yrs old at 58.9percent. Bottle for Maxxium Netherlands. Finally a bottle of Dutch Single Malt called Millstone. This is from the family owned Zuidam Distillery in Baarle Nassau. Bottle at 40percent. Aged min 5yrs in American white oak and ex Bourbon and Olorosso barrels. Web address is www.zuidam.eu. I have not yet addressed these fine whiskies as I am saving myself for the Freakers Ball on the 25th, sorry I mean the AGM. See you all there, regards Liam Murray Kilkenny

Hi Liam,

I've have a few of those Highland Parks. Basically bottlesd as single cask and the few I've had so far have been powerful but excellent ... I have really liked the Maxxim bottles I've had so far.

Enjoy

Luke, that sherry cask is advertised as a 16 year old, but it's 17 years old - there's a bonus for you. And I think it's the one we had at the dinner in Cooley, which was a fantastic one.

It's the one we tasted straight from the cask when Noel was showing us around JohnM.

It's just as well I bought two bottles, one to drink one for the "Archive".

Likewise with the Springbank 11 YO Cask Strength Madeira. Safety in numbers after all...

Re the Cooley trip; we'll have to wait patiently for the wine finish casks CWS1 and CWS2 to mature a bit beyond the 10 years we tasted them at.

All good things come to those who wait! :D

Fair play John, I was half tempted myself bun not sure about you Bunny. Really love some of the older stuff but not a great fan of the 12yo. However the heavy peating levels might make this a good dram. Maybe you'll sell me a bottle in 5 years time

Adrian, 18 YO Bunny (OB 43%) is a lovely sherried, fruity, briney, dram!

That said, the older Bunnies seem to be en vogue at the moment, well, for under £200.00!

I have a Duncan Taylor 38YO 1970 Single Cask Cask Strength Bunnie (just a smidgen over 40% ABV!) I bought in Edinburgh a few years back (for £105.00!). I'll open that one on my 40th!

One thing that saddens me re Bunnahabhain is that despite magnificent stock new OB's are scarce.

"Consolidation", "Consolidation", "Consolidation"...

Yes Luke the 18 is a real nice dram and I really like it so when I meant older I was including the 18 there also.

The 12yo just does not do it for me though :(

I got a 30yo Bunny for around the €100 a couple years ago 8-) Alas with the angels inow :D

So many whiskies so little time ;)

The 1970s ones from Single Malts of Scotland are amongst my favourite whiskies.
